Canadian artist Rubicini and Swedish rising talent Adde have released their long-anticipated collaboration “Grave,” now streaming worldwide. The track marks a defining moment in Rubicini’s career, blending the darker edges of punk and alternative with his R&B-inspired sound.
At its core, Grave is about confronting personal demons—those moments of anxiety, addiction, and heartbreak that follow us even when we try to move forward. Rubicini’s opening verse captures this tension:
“Toss me aside like a cigarette,
Tears down your face how could I forget,
Stains on my shirt came from your regret,
Quitting on me is my only threat.”
The lyrics speak to the pain of broken relationships and the determination to overcome them. The chorus drives the message home:
“I won’t freak out, I’ll never let you shake me,
Deep in your grave that you’ve been praising.”
It’s a declaration of strength—accepting that healing begins when we stop trying to save those who won’t save themselves.
Adde’s Vulnerable Perspective
Adde’s verse adds a layer of raw honesty. His reflections on self-doubt, overthinking, and substance use paint a vivid picture of emotional struggle:
“I’ve taken many drugs and now it takes me to the grave,
Alone in my room thinking about the things I say.”
His tone contrasts with Rubicini’s resilience, creating balance between despair and determination. Together, they turn private pain into shared catharsis.
A Collaboration with Dustin Belt
The song was co-produced with Dustin Belt, a Billboard-charting producer, songwriter, and guitarist based in Los Angeles. Belt wrote the guitar parts for Grave and has also worked on Rubicini’s punk-alt tracks “Wasted” and “Tripping” featuring Benny Mayne.
With over 15 years in the industry, Belt’s résumé includes collaborations with Steve Aoki, Big Time Rush, Andy Grammer, Tori Kelly, All Time Low, Nervo, Cody Simpson, and Walk Off The Earth. He has performed across more than 30 countries and appeared on Ellen, Good Morning America, Live With Kelly, The View, and The iHeartRadio Festival.
His guitar work gives Grave a haunting edge—bridging live emotion with sharp production and giving the record its tense, cinematic atmosphere.
Grave signals a major step in Rubicini’s evolution. Known for his moody Toronto-style R&B, he now leans into a punk-alternative fusion that feels both authentic and experimental. The track proves his ability to evolve without losing emotional clarity.
Performing across North America and building an international fan base, Rubicini continues to carve a space where vulnerability and power can coexist. Grave is not a love song—it’s a reckoning.
