In a world where cultural identity and the fight for recognition remain essential, LA CHICANA CHIQUITITA emerges as a musical project with a powerful voice and a deep message. Released on February 28, 2025, this EP is more than just a collection of songs—it is a tribute to Chicano culture, resilience, and the Latino community in the United States.
From the very beginning, Gigi Fernández expresses gratitude to those who have openly spoken about immigration, especially in today’s climate. Through her music, she seeks to bring awareness to the Chicano/a/x experience, an identity often caught between being “neither from here nor there.” However, her message is clear: we do belong, and we find ourselves most within our communities.
About the EP “LA CHICANA CHIQUITITA“
This project was created with the intention of empowering, inspiring, and sparking reflection. Some songs were written years ago, while others were composed during pivotal moments like election day. Music here serves as a form of resistance, a channel to amplify voices that have long been silenced.
The EP features six tracks, each carrying its own essence while being connected by one central theme: strength and pride in Chicano culture.

💡 A Project of Heart and Resistance
For Gigi Fernández, this EP is more than entertainment—it’s a statement of principles. “I want to do more with my voice. I want to empower others to empower themselves. I want to speak up about things I ‘shouldn’t talk about’ and contribute to change alongside inspiring leaders,” she says.
This is a call to action: fight, resist, rest, and thrive. Because when someone tries to make you feel weak because of where you come from, it’s because they recognize your power, your culture, and your community.
This work is dedicated to Indigenous and Latino people and to the civil rights leaders who ignited the Chicano movement in 1968.
