Louis Tomlinson shares candid thoughts on Harry Styles’ solo success

Louis Tomlinson has revealed that he felt some envy towards Harry Styles when he first became successful as a solo artist. The former One Direction bandmates were together for five years and released five albums before disbanding in 2015 to pursue solo projects. In a new interview with The Times, Tomlinson said he was initially bitter when the band split, but now has a better understanding of things. He said it was hardly a surprise that Styles had become as successful as he has been.

While Tomlinson admitted to feeling envy at the start, he said he’s now learning to elevate himself in those moments. Tomlinson also commented on Styles’ controversial Grammys acceptance speech, saying that “only Harry knows what he means there.” He also talked about the possibility of a One Direction reunion, saying it’s hard to imagine right now but he wouldn’t rule out the possibility of one ever happening. Tomlinson is currently preparing to release a documentary film, All Of Those Voices, which will offer an “intimate and unvarnished” look at his life and career.
