Every artist has a story behind their sound, and for Terrance, that story begins at home. Long before recording music or releasing songs online, music was already a constant presence in his life.
Growing up in Neptune, New Jersey, Terrance was surrounded by rhythm, culture, and creativity. His father, known as Big Mike, played several instruments including the trumpet, saxophone, and harmonica. Those sounds filled the house regularly, creating an environment where music wasn’t just entertainment — it was part of everyday life.
Many evenings were spent sitting outside while his father played his instruments, while classic soul music played through the speakers. Artists like the Dells, the Manhattans, Stevie Wonder, and Teddy Pendergrass helped shape the musical atmosphere that Terrance absorbed as a child.
At the same time, hip-hop culture was also becoming an important influence. His older brother was active in the breakdancing scene, introducing Terrance to the creativity and energy that defined the culture during that era. Music from legends like Rakim, EPMD, and Big Daddy Kane became part of the soundtrack of his youth.
This blend of soul, jazz, and hip-hop created a musical foundation that would later inspire Terrance’s own creative direction.
Although music was always around him, Terrance’s early focus was basketball. His talent on the court eventually gave him the opportunity to travel internationally, experiencing different cultures and perspectives.
Those experiences broadened his understanding of music and creativity. Exposure to new environments allowed him to see how different cultures express themselves through sound.
When Terrance eventually began recording music in college, he already carried years of musical influence and cultural inspiration with him. What started as fun recording sessions with friends slowly turned into a serious creative pursuit.
Today, his music reflects the many influences that shaped his journey — family, culture, travel, and personal exploration.
Rather than following trends, Terrance focuses on creating music that reflects who he is and where he comes from. That authenticity continues to define his artistic identity.
