[Philadelphia, Pennsylvania – Jill of all trades Jenelle Alexia is taking her brand A’Legends to the global stage as she prepares to return to the runway this summer after a one-year hiatus. The fashion designer, who is also an actress, author, event host, music producer, philanthropist and mother, will be showcasing her new creations at the Africa Night Out Gala where she’ll also be presented with the Diaspora Excellence Award.
This award recognizes her presence in the Jamaican diaspora throughout the United States and applauds her work in the fashion and entertainment industry, as well as her contributions to her heritage, culture and charity in Jamaica. Alexia has also donated clothing and made monetary contributions to various charities in Africa. The award show, to be held in Pennsauken, New Jersey this September, Saturday the 13th and broadcasted to the world, will be highlighting several African and Caribbean personalities who are based in the US.
In June, on her birthday, Jenelle Alexia wrapped up her scenes in a new movie she made a cameo in called Switch, after having successfully organized a school tour in Jamaica where she engaged over 9,000 students aged 5 to 12 in a cultural explosion and made charitable donations to not only the children but also to the 9 schools she visited and their principals. The Ministry of Culture, Gender, Entertainment, Youth and Sport, at the behest of the minister, the honourable Olivia “Babsy” Grange, had also invited Jenelle Alexia through the valiant effort by Shauna Fong Yee to partake in the Read Across Jamaica Day festivities on Tuesday, May 6, 2025. The ambitious woman managed to write another children’s book, her third in the Keira series, in between all this and is about to launch hard copies of the first two books in several bookstores throughout her island home by September.
Wearing many hats can be tiring but Jenelle Alexia is determined to get the job done all the while representing her country on the global stage and being the best role model to her son. As she lays the groundwork for her brand, she is paving the way for young women from around the world and leaving a legacy that will carry on for future generations.
“It’s a lot of work but I believe that pressure brings greater rewards. I’m proud to be of Jamaican heritage, to be able to represent my culture in a positive way, to showcase my talent and hard work, to inspire the younger generation to follow their dreams and to keep building my brand even when life gets in the way,” Jenelle Alexia expressed.
At the June 29th Evolution event put on by dancehall artist Flippa Moggela in Philadelphia, Jenelle Alexia sponsored the promo girls by providing their A’Legends outfits for the night. They received compliments from patrons for Jenelle’s design which suited each girl perfectly. Jenelle was also in attendance where she networked with the increasingly popular artist Nigy Boy and fast rising dancehall star Kkrytical.
With these new connections, Jenelle Alexia is currently working on another rhythm compilation in which she is hoping to feature both artists as well as I-Octane, Jahmeil and some upcoming artists. On August 23rd, Jenelle Alexia was a special guest at the annual Angela Yee Day where she met other top Jamaican acts such as Gyptian, Tifa and Chronic Law. Alexia also attended the 3rd staging of the Caribbean Music Awards at Kings Theatre in Brooklyn,NYC. The guest list included Elephant Man, DJ Khaled Shenseea, Busta Rhymes Bua Banton and many more household caribbean names.
Jenelle Alexia is looking forward to more successes like this and bigger opportunities in the near future.
